Mean annual concentrations of five air pollutants – benzo(a)pyrene (BaP), benzene (C6H6), NO2, PM10 and PM2.5 – were examined in Łódź in 2018–2024 together with reported emissions, meteorological conditions and the structure and intensity of the city’s development, the latter analysed for 97,517 buildings in 36 auxiliary units. Spearman rank correlation with Benjamini–Hochberg correction was applied. In 2024 the concentrations of all five pollutants were lower than in 2018, most markedly for BaP (−58.2%) and NO2 (−43.0%). This documents a decrease between these years; no trend over the whole period was significant after correction. Emission–concentration relationships were significant for NO2 (ρ = 0.96) and BaP (ρ = 0.89), whereas no meteorological one was. The share of low-rise buildings falls from 90.86% of their number to 48.51% of the pseudo-usable floor area, and intensity ranges from 13,062 m2/ha in Katedralna to 176 m2/ha in Łagiewniki.
